Assistant Accountant - Practice
McGinnis Loy Associates are proud to be working with a highly established and well-regarded Accountancy Practice who are looking to recruit a part-qualified Assistant Accountant for their team. Reporting to one of the Accounting Managers, the rolewill involve assisting with preparation of financial statements, IFRS compliance, VAT returns, tax & other regulatory work and management reporting. Key duties for the position include :
- Assisting with accounts preparation activities for clients in accordance with internal procedures and controls
- Ensuring all financial statements are completed in accordance with IFRS guidelines
- Preparation of management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts for clients
- Assisting with Corporation Tax submissions & VAT returns for clients
- Assistingwith special investigative assignments, or undertaking business research for specific clientsas required
- Developing good working relationships with external clients and internal finance colleagues
To be considered for the position you should be able to project a professional, credible image with confident communication skills,and ideally be an ACA or ACCA part-qualified accountant close to qualifying. With experience in preparing client financial statements, you should be able to plan your own workload, agree priorities to ensure the effectiveness of your contribution and ideally come from an Accountancy practice background. You should be a self-starter, be able to work on a stand-alone basis as well as part of team, and be a strong relationship builder.
