McGinnis Loy Associates are working with a highly established UK Accountancy Firm who are currently looking for a Tax Director to join their expanding team.  Reporting to one of the partners, the role would ideally suit an ATT or CTA Qualified Tax specialist who can assist the firm with all aspects of corporate tax compliance for their large client base in London and the Home Counties.  Overseeing a team of eight staff (made up of Managers and Junior staff), you will be required to demonstrate strong UK Tax knowledge and provide Corporate & Personal Tax advice to clients within agreed service times and quality levels.  Key duties include:

·         Acting as the focal point for providing tax support and advice to a wide-ranging and established client portfolio (including partnerships and Ltd companies)

·         Assisting with tax implications surrounding business acquisitions & disposals

·         Tax planning for clients undertaking overseas expansions

·         Preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and computations within agreed timescales

·         Supporting the management team on ad-hoc or complex client tax projects

·         Analysing and interpreting data, identifying business issues and applying technical knowledge appropriately

·         Assisting with personal tax planning for HNW individuals and families (including Capital Gains & IHT)

·         Keeping up to date with current UK corporate and personal tax legislation and anticipated changes to tax law

·         Proactively seek out business development opportunities, and participate fully in new client pitches

To be considered for the position you should be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) or qualified Tax Manager / Director (ATT, CTA) within another Accounting Firm as experience in a similar position is essential.  With excellent team working skills you should be able to supervise a strong Tax team, and work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.  The role is working within a friendly and motivated team in offices across Surrey & London
